EXPERIENCE

3-5 years

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB DESCRIPTION

• Troubleshoot L2 level issues escalated by L1 team
• Upgrade of RHEL OS from 7.x to 8.x
• Troubleshooting of upgrade issues and roll back if required
• Manage patching of servers using tools
• Support upgrade planning and develop upgrade SPO’s for L1 team
• Act as escalation point for L1 team and help them to fix issues with upgrade project

SKILLS

• Experience with handling L2 level support large environments containing more than 1000 servers
• Sound knowledge of RHEL 5/6/7 & Oracle Linux.
• Advanced knowledge of RHEL clustering configuration.
• Good handle on repository management and Linux system patching using tools like Satellite or SMART
• knowledge of VMWare for deployment of Linux VMs.
• Sound knowledge of Security aspects from Linux OS perspective to deliver/implement security policies as per organization guidelines.
• Able to handle most of basic to advanced calls in User, group management, system start-up, service modification, crontab entries, ACL modifications, file system management, root backups.
• Experience in Server Management, Backup, with the help of the tool provided. Any proactive monitoring tools i.e., open view, Tivoli, Big-brother, Data Protector Etc. will be added Advantage.
• Should have used any backup management software i.e., Net backup, TSM, VERITAS, Omnibackup etc.
• Preferred Certification in RHEL

QUALIFICATIONS

B.E/B.Tech is preferred
